Connecting WHOOP
Connect your WHOOP account to Wellpipe in about 30 seconds.
Prerequisites
- An active WHOOP membership
- Access to your WHOOP account credentials
Step-by-Step
1. Go to Your Dashboard
Visit app.wellpipe.io and sign in if you haven't already.
2. Find WHOOP
On your dashboard, locate the WHOOP provider card.
3. Click Connect
Click the Connect button on the WHOOP card.
4. Authorize on WHOOP
You'll be redirected to WHOOP's authorization page. This is WHOOP's official OAuth page—you're not entering credentials on Wellpipe.
Review the permissions and click Authorize.
5. Return to Dashboard
After authorizing, you'll be redirected back to your Wellpipe dashboard. The WHOOP card will now show:
- Connected status
- Your WHOOP user ID
- Token expiry date
Permissions Explained
When you authorize, WHOOP asks you to grant these permissions:
| Permission | What Wellpipe Can Access |
|---|---|
| Read Profile | Your name and WHOOP user ID |
| Read Sleep | Sleep sessions, stages, and scores |
| Read Recovery | Recovery scores, HRV, and readiness data |
| Read Workout | Workout activities, strain, and heart rate |
| Read Cycles | Daily physiological cycles |
| Read Body | Height, weight, and max heart rate |
| Offline Access | Refresh tokens for automatic renewal |
All permissions are read-only. Wellpipe cannot modify any WHOOP data.
Token Expiry
WHOOP access tokens expire after 7 days. When this happens:
- Your data queries will stop working
- The dashboard will show a warning
- Click Reconnect to re-authorize
We're working on automatic token refresh to eliminate this step.
Disconnecting
To disconnect WHOOP from Wellpipe:
- Go to your dashboard
- Find the WHOOP card
- Click Disconnect
This revokes Wellpipe's access to your WHOOP data. Your WHOOP data remains unchanged in the WHOOP app.
Multiple WHOOP Accounts
Currently, Wellpipe supports one WHOOP account per Wellpipe account. If you need to switch accounts:
- Disconnect the current WHOOP account
- Log out of WHOOP in your browser
- Connect with the new WHOOP account
Troubleshooting
Authorization Failed
If WHOOP's authorization page shows an error:
- Make sure you're logged into the correct WHOOP account
- Clear browser cookies and try again
- Try an incognito/private browser window
"Connection Expired" Message
Your WHOOP tokens have expired:
- Click Reconnect in the dashboard
- Authorize again on WHOOP
Wrong Account Connected
If you accidentally connected the wrong WHOOP account:
- Click Disconnect in the dashboard
- Clear WHOOP cookies or use incognito mode
- Click Connect and log into the correct account
WHOOP App Works But Wellpipe Doesn't
The WHOOP app and API are separate systems. If the app works but Wellpipe doesn't:
- Check if your tokens have expired (dashboard shows expiry date)
- Try reconnecting to get fresh tokens
- Verify your WHOOP membership is active
