Your First Conversation
Now that Wellpipe is connected, let's try some example conversations.
Starting Simple
Begin with straightforward questions about recent data:
Sleep
"How did I sleep last night?"
"What was my sleep score?"
"How much deep sleep did I get?"
Recovery
"What's my recovery today?"
"What's my HRV?"
"Am I ready for a hard workout?"
Workouts
"What workouts did I do this week?"
"How much strain have I accumulated?"
"Show my last running session"
Going Deeper
Once comfortable, try more analytical questions:
Trends
"How has my sleep been trending this month?"
"Compare my recovery this week to last week"
"What's my average HRV over the past 30 days?"
Correlations
"Does my sleep quality affect my recovery?"
"How does exercise impact my sleep?"
"What happens to my HRV after hard workouts?"
Insights
"Why might my recovery be low today?"
"What should I focus on to improve my sleep?"
"Based on my data, am I overtraining?"
Example Conversation
Here's what a typical conversation looks like:
You: How did I sleep last night?
Claude: Last night you slept for 7 hours 32 minutes with a sleep performance of 92%.
Here's the breakdown:
- Light sleep: 3h 15m (43%)
- Deep sleep: 1h 48m (24%)
- REM sleep: 2h 05m (28%)
- Awake: 24m (5%)
Your sleep efficiency was 95% and you had 3 disturbances. Your respiratory rate was 14.8 breaths/min, which is in your normal range.
You: How does that compare to my weekly average?
Claude: Compared to your weekly average:
- Duration: 7h 32m vs 7h 15m average (+17 min)
- Deep sleep: 24% vs 21% average (+3%)
- Sleep performance: 92% vs 88% average (+4%)
Last night was above average across the board. Your deep sleep percentage was particularly good.
Tips for Better Responses
Be Specific
Instead of: "Tell me about my sleep" Try: "How was my deep sleep last night?"
Ask for Comparisons
Instead of: "What's my HRV?" Try: "How does my HRV today compare to my 30-day average?"
Request Analysis
Instead of: "Show my workouts" Try: "Analyze my workout patterns this month"
Understanding the Responses
The AI will reference metrics from WHOOP. Here's what they mean:
| Metric | What It Measures |
|---|---|
| Sleep Performance | How well you met your sleep need (0-100%) |
| Recovery Score | Readiness for strain (0-100%) |
| HRV | Heart rate variability in ms |
| Strain | Cardiovascular load (0-21 scale) |
| Sleep Efficiency | Time asleep vs time in bed |
For detailed metric explanations, see the WHOOP available data page.
What If Something Goes Wrong?
"I don't have access to your health data"
Your AI assistant isn't connected properly. Re-check the setup guide for your platform.
"No data available"
Either WHOOP hasn't synced yet, or the date range has no data. Try asking about a different time period.
Old or stale data
WHOOP data syncs after you wake up. If you just woke up, wait 15-30 minutes and try again.
